Throughout Rear Window, we see the male protagonist dominate the driving force of the plot. Using his camera, he peeks into the lives of others across the street, developing theories about their lives along the way. Lisa would support Jeff in these efforts. Lisa never doubted any decision to help Jeff. Rather, she would take care of him and anticipate his needs. It was not uncommon for media and advertisements in the 1950's to portray the idea that women must "satisfy" their man in any way necessary (Courtney and Lockeretz).

In this scene we see the male protagonist is immobilized due to his broken leg. There are numerous scenes were Lisa goes around performing certain tasks and duties upon the request of the male. This can reflect the culture of the 1950's where the women would do what she could to service her husband.
